The Incredibles - Summer Movies Series

Once Again Nikau Kai and The City of Manhattan Beach have teamed to bring you another complimentary Movie... This time It's "The Incredibles" by Disney / Pixar. To add to the fun we're also hosting a Super Hero Costume Contest, oh this should be fun. We'll have a both an "individual" and "family" catagory. So grab your beach chairs and your magic lasso or cape... and come join us in the courtyard behind the newly redesigned Manhattan Beach Public Library, next to City Hall. As always we'll be offering concessions to help raise money for The Mira Costa Surf Team. We truly hope you and the family can come down and join your neighbors on the grassy lawn enjoy a slice...

Frozen... on the beach

What more can we say, Frozen on the Beach... We're stoked to be working with great folks over at MBO as well as our fine City of Manhattan Beach to bring you yet another great movie. This time we'll be on the beach, yep, right on center court of the MBO Stadium. There will food from our good friend's at Simmzy's, Manhattan Pizzeria. We'll have frozen deserts from Bonaventura Gelato-Lounge and if that wasn't enough we'll be down on the beach making popcorn like we always do. Oh and for mom and dad we'll have beer and wine available in the Sky Deck (open to the public). Doesn't get much better than that. Things will kick off at 6 with music and mingling why we set...

‘Barbarian Days: A Surfing Life,’ by William Finnegan @ {Pages} a Bookstore

{pages} together with Nikau Kai is hosting a very intimate event at {pages} with author William Finnegan whose new memoir just came out yesterday.  It’s called Barbarian Days:  A Surfing Life  and its a superb read. Finnegan is a life long surfer who grew up in LA and Hawaii.  He is now a staff reporter for The New Yorker but prior to that was a war reporter who spent time all over the world reporting and surfing in between.  An excessive adventurer,  you’ll find his new memoir hard to put down.  We are excited to have him at {pages} and invite you to join us for a reception, short discussion and book signing.  Please forward this to others you think might be interested.  Following is the New York Times Book Review...
